Here’s a pretty good primer on what’s going on with the sale of Gawker.

Ahh. The old “Too Big To Fail” defense. Good One!
I’ll put my eggs in the Jalopnik/Oppo gets absorbed to R&T (Hearst) empire before being dissolved.
Edit: Basket! Dangit.. I forgot Basket!..

I bid... 0.43. That should cover Oppo at least.

None of them seem to address what should be done with Nick Denton.
He, along with Piers Morgan, should be handled by top men.

Have you ever seen the difference in page views and comments among other Gawker sites? Jalopnik gets a fraction of it at best. If a Jalopnik article gets 4-500 comments, that’s yuge. But articles on Gawker and Jezebel regularly reach thousands of comments.
But whatever the case, if this doesn't end with Nick Denton shipped back to England (in the bilge of a freighter) and several gawker writers left in the bread line, I'll be very disappointed.

I’m confused, Denton owes Hogan $140m or something. Gawlker files for bankruptcy, then how does Hogan get his moneys? Do the proceeds of the sale go to Hogan?

Poor Torch, they’re not going to keep a weirdo like him on. The peyote budget alone for him is insane. He’ll be back freelancing like he used to.

Yes, I believe that’s exactly what will happen.
